FORT MYERS, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A terrifying clown has become the stuff of legend in South Florida.
Sightings of Wrinkles the Clown have been reported in the Fort Myers area.
“People pay me to go scare their friends, to dance at their parties, bar mitzvahs, it’s limitless,” the man behind Wrinkles scary makeup told WBBH-TV.
Videos of Wrinkles have gone viral, and a Google Plus account is dedicated to sightings of the elusive clown.
The man behind the clown says he didn’t start out to become an Internet sensation.
“I just want to have a good time,” he said. “Make a little extra money on the side, have a little fun before I die.”
Although he looks like something out of a nightmare, Wrinkles says he’s not trying to scare anyone.
“Ever since these kids put me on the internet, my phone rings nonstop,” he complained. “They sensationalize me and call me all kinds of things.”
